On Unwatermarked Paper. Issued Perforation 12.

FIRST PRINTING

In Rose on Medium Grade Paper.
Produced by Repeating the First Two Strips of 10 Engravings
and Adding a 5th Strip of Five Engravings to Complete the Pane.


FIRST PRINTING CHARACTERISTICS ON RECONSTRUCTED PANE OF 25

Row A: 1) "CA" of "REPUBLICA" very closed. 2) Bottom right circle far from oval.   3) Bottom "2"
in normal position. 4) Right circle very far from oval.   5) Left "2" in normal
position while right "2" closer to the left.
Row B: 6) Top left scroll reversed. 7) Bottom left "2" high and near to the circle. 8) Both ends of
bottom scroll near the circles. 9) Upper right scroll starts above  second limb
of "U". 10) Right upper scroll considerably above inner oval line.
Row C: 11) Joined "ENT" of "CENTAVOS". 12) No horizon at right of volcano.  13) Right bottom "2"
almost touching upper left of circle. 14) Left bottom scroll touching circle.
15) Inverted "V" for "A" and small lettering of "CENTAVOS".


1886 SAN SALVADOR to HALIFAX, CANADA
2c First Printing left margin strip of 4 with 5c x 3 issues on registered private wrapper.

23c Franking for 8c quadruple printed matter rate, 10c registration fee and 5c advisory receipt.

Margin strip with left  Inverted Scroll Error on Positions 6 and 16 (right scrolls normal)

2c First Printing diagonal bisect to produce 1c with 10c issue,
tied with oval colonial postmark alongside March 6 date stamp.

1888 SAN SALVADOR to NEW JERSEY
2c With inverted scroll error and 1c for 3c single outbound printed matter rate
with star cancels and November 18 date stamp.

1885 SAN SALVADOR to QUITO, ECUADOR
2c Double interior rate on Official Post Office envelope (red embossing on back flap).

Mail to Ecuador treated as interior mail.
